tea.

early grey.

dusting of sugar.

drip of half and half.

For some reason coffee hasn't been appealing to me, so it's tea all the way.

This intellectually stimulating post is brought to you by a recently-become 9 to 5 girl.

are you too busy?

I'm busy with weird things.

Not too busy, though, because you can't be too busy when you're not employed.

I've been job searching, car searching, interviewing, and now I have a job offer! Hopefully stable living conditions and my own place will soon follow.

Things I'm most looking forward to:

owning my own car again.
having a coffee maker perpetually sitting on the counter, making coffee.
have a closet so i can organize my stuff.
pulling my belongings out of boxes and settling in.

I know, I'm such a girl. It's true.

bring back to the states.

when I go back to the States, I want to carry on the English tradition of not only offering guests a cup of tea when they arrive, but also, always sending them away with a cup when they leave.

They used to have to arrange when to return the china cup, but now guests leave with the tea in a to-go cup.

Just kidding. They don't do that.

monmouth coffee

This place is near Borough Market, by London Bridge. It is always in the top 10 lists of London's best coffee.

On Saturdays, there is a line that goes out the door and down the street. A guy comes out with a stack of cups, taking everyone's order.

my warm drink.

In the land across the atlantic, it's all about the "hot drinks". You think France has a monopoly on the cafe?

For the first time since I got here, I went to Starbucks (don't tell departure) and got their gingerbread spice latte to kick off December. Actually, it was to console me because they don't do pumpkin spice lattes over here. The gingerbread latte was good, though.

The next day, when I came home and was faced with the hot drink dilemma, I decided to recreate and modify.

Spoonful of instant coffee in the bottom of a mug.
Cover the grounds with a bit of sugar (it took more sugar than I thought).
Add a couple tablespoons of hot water to dissolve the coffee granules.
Sprinkle liberally with nutmeg and cinnamon and stir.
Fill the rest of the mug up with soy milk and heat in the microwave until hot.

Quite good. And I'm glad to have found "my drink" over here.

c. list

I love coffee always, but I have an on-again, off-again relationship with it (don't want to get dependent on it). Lately, we have been very on.

:: Monday :: Grande cappuccino from Starbucks

:: Sunday :: Starbucks Breakfast Blend, home-brewed
